Rishi Khosla is a global entrepreneur and serial start-up investor. His latest venture is OakNorth Bank, the newest entrant into Britain's banking sector. OakNorth, which received a UK banking license in March 2015, is being set up as a digitally focused bank focusing on the small and medium-sized enterprises. In an interview to the Financial Times he said that the start-up will plug a huge gap by lending to small businesses, a sector long neglected by high street banks. The bank has plans to launch in Q3 has about 40 staff based in London and Manchester. His new venture OakNorth will join a number of new entrants to the industry, looking to challenge the dominance of Britain's "Big Four" lenders - Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds Banking Group, Barclays and HSBC. On 12th November 2015, it was announced that it has secured £66 million equity investment from Indiabulls Group. The funding will help it accelerate lending to fast-growing, British small and medium sized companies.
